“Local college students said Tuesday that they feel safe on and around their campuses during the off-season, provided they take simple safety precautions.”
“Security chiefs at several local colleges said that if anything, patrols are more obvious on campus in the summer to discourage vandals attracted by empty dorms and classrooms.”
“Pace University’s director of security, Vincent Beatty, concurred. He said the school normally drops to 50 to 100 students on campus in the summer, but, “We do not change anything.”
