Employers & Job Seekers Join Forces on Friday, January 22, New York City

Pace University Hosts Collaborative, Multi-School Job Fair for GRADUATE Business Students/Alumni (MBA, MS, MPA Degrees) from 24 Participating Colleges AND 40 “Hiring” Companies; Event Organized by MyWorkster

NEW YORK, January 19, 2010 — With layoffs and high unemployment in the New York area affecting increasing numbers of professionals with graduate degrees, MyWorkster, a leading online career development network, will bring together two dozen of the nation’s top business schools for the first ever Multi-School Graduate Fair for job seekers with Masters degrees in business, technology and public administration. More than 40 leading companies will also take part in this unprecedented event on Friday, January 22nd at Pace University’s downtown Manhattan campus.

The event, specifically geared toward job seekers with MBA, MPA and MS degrees, represents a new model in improving alumni and student access to top employers through a combination of face-to-face and online networking.

Coordinated by MyWorkster and hosted by Pace University, this event involves graduate schools of business from both public and private universities that increasingly are looking for new ways to aid alumni and students seeking internships and permanent positions. The price of admission is $10 and pre-registration is required at http://www.myworkster.com/jobfair

“The recession has hit so many professionals with advanced degrees, particularly in the New York area,” states MyWorkster Director of Operations Doug Baruchin. “Those candidates have special skills and needs. These graduate business schools recognize that, and have joined forces with us to provide a unique networking experience for their qualified students and alumni. Additionally, employers coping with the recession are looking to cut costs in the recruitment process. This event addresses both needs by bringing together a seasoned pool of graduate degree holders with a wide range of top employers. It leverages MyWorkster’s proprietary technology to make networking and recruiting more effective.”

Unlike traditional job fairs where the networking begins and ends at the event itself, employers using MyWorkster’s online tools can screen candidates before the fair and contact numerous others they might not have the opportunity to meet directly at the event through MyWorkster’s robust networking technology.

“We at Pace, like other universities, are working hard to assist our students and alumni,” said Jody Queen-Hubert, Executive Director of the Pace University Career Co-op & Career Services.

“By having access to an exponentially larger number of solid leads from this fair, employers can organize the profiles they find attractive into a ‘saved list,’ send messages to job seekers, invite them for interviews and/or internships and interact via chat or video links,” Queen-Hubert continued. “Employers can source both passive and active talent and post an unlimited amount of jobs across targeted college networks, efficiently providing access to tens of thousands of qualified job seekers.”
