The Wall Street Journal and The Journal News ran stories on the Federal Reserve Challenge Team from Pace that won the regional competition and placed third in the country. Another story ran in the Daily Armonk about one of the team members.

Undergraduates from Bentley University, Lafayette College, Northwestern University, Pace University and American University won regional competitions to advance to Tuesday’s final, where they presented monetary-policy recommendations in the same room where the Federal Open Market Committee next meets on Dec. 11-12 to make its own policy decisions. A Pace University team of undergraduate students competing in the 2012 College Federal Reserve Challenge recently won the final round of the New York Federal Reserve Bank’s competition and placed third in the national round. The team beat 29 other schools.
The participating Pace students — Nashrah Ahmed, William Hellander, Daniel Boutarel, Kelsey Berrio and Sonia Sternick — were the first Pace team to win the regional competition. The foursome, who are business, economics and finance majors, then competed in the nationals in Washington, D.C., and were ranked third in the country out of 135 colleges and universities.
