Pace Athletics: Pace SAAC raises money for Japan, DJ Henry Dream Fund (April 16) and American Cancer Society (April 29)

The Pace Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) has raised $200 dollars to be sent overseas to Japan by holding a successful clothing drive and selling baked goods at its 5th annual bingo night. To end the year, “SAAC will be co-sponsoring a Powder Puff game with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. to raise money for the DJ Henry Dream Fund will be held on April 16th. SAAC will also be participating in Relay for Life which will be held in the Goldstein Fitness Center on April 29th. All the money raised at Relay for Life will go to the American Cancer Society.”

“PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) held a clothing drive for Japan over the past 2 weeks. The clothing drive was a huge success and in total SAAC received 50 bags full of clothes. Students, staff, and the community all participated in the event where clothing bins were placed around campus, such as the Goldstein Fitness Center.

Along with the clothing drive, SAAC sold baked goods at its fifth annual bingo night, and during lunch common hour to raise funds to buy essential supplies to support the relief efforts in Japan. SAAC raised $200, and in the upcoming weeks the SAAC executive board will be putting together the supplies to send overseas.

Finishing the school year, SAAC will be busy with a few remaining events to finish the semester. SAAC will be co-sponsoring a Powder Puff game with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. to raise money for the DJ Henry Dream Fund will be held on April 16th. SAAC will also be participating in Relay for Life which will be held in the Goldstein Fitness Center on April 29th. All the money raised at Relay for Life will go to the American Cancer Society.”
